Upright, branching, aromatic, annual or short-lived perennial, bright green, mildly aniseed flavoured leaves. Small white tubular flowers. Helps to control a variety of garden pests.
Cultivation: Grow in light well-drained soil in full sun. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushy growth and avoid early flowering. Needs an average temperature of 10oC or above
Height & Spread: 30-60cm x 15-30cm
Culinary Uses: A popular ingredient in Mediterranean salads, soups and tomato dishes. Used in herb oils, vinegars and is the main ingredient in pesto.
