Organic Seed. Grown as an annual, Thai basil has deep purple stems, purple veined leaves and pink-violet flowers. It has a sweet taste with a hint of anise/liquorice. Can be eaten fresh or dried. Plants are ornamental as well as culinary. It is said to convey good fortune and ward off evil spirits. Helps to control a variety of pests and is good companion to beans, cabbage and tomato
Cultivation: Grow in light well-drained soil in full sun. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushy growth and avoid early flowering. Needs an average temperature of 10oC or above

Culinary Uses: Widely used in Southeast Asia, especially in Thai, Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian cookery. Flavours tomato, meat and aubergine dishes. Excellent with potato and onion stir fry. Leaves and flowers can be added to salads, sauces , soups and vegetable dishes.
