Bean ‘Scarlet Emperor’ (Runner Bean) Phaseolus coccineus

3.00

Organic Seed.  Red flowering, climbing variety with a slightly rough-skinned bean.  They can be up to 30cm long with an excellent flavour. Runner beans are more suited to the Irish climate than French beans.  They have long, flat pods

Cultivation:   Grow in deep, rich fertile soil with plenty of compost or well-rotted manure dug in.   Runner beans like a sheltered but sunny site.  A good sturdy support is needed.

Pests & Diseases:   Slugs are a nuisance to young plants and grey mould can be a problem in a cool, damp Summer.
